Iota Sweethearts, Inc. Kicks Off Its 2017 St. Jude Initiative
Iota Sweethearts, Inc. (ISI) has begun its campaign for the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer.
As a Bronze Level sponsor, ISI is one of the many national teams that gather every September to walk and raise money to assist in finding a cure for the disease. In 2016, the organization collected over $10K to fight childhood cancer and is looking to surpass that amount in 2017.
The organization has already kicked off it's fundraising efforts in each of it's seven regions, as teams have been established in various states and cities. Members, friends, and supporters can make a monetary contribution or sign up to join a team at a walk nearest to their area. The regional teams are listed on the official website.
Iota Sweethearts, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 organization that aims to provide educational, career, and personal development opportunities to its members while also improving the social, academic, and economical standings of the individuals in it's surrounding communities. I.S.I also serves to promote scholarship, health, and social awareness, as well as build partnerships for collaborative efforts with other national and international organizations.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. St. Jude has the world's best survival rates for the most aggressive childhood cancers, and treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since they opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent in the next decade. St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs they make, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. J
