IOTA SWEETHEARTS OF NEW ENGLAND HOST CLOTHING DRIVE FOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH
March 14, 2018 – Community members are invited to donate gently used clothing and household items to the Connecticut Professional Chapter of Iota Sweethearts, Inc.’s FUNDrive to be held on April 6, 2018 at Faith Ministries located at 749 Albany Ave. in Hartford, CT from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The drive’s goal is to raise $500 in funds to support the ISI Connecticut’s upcoming community programs, which include providing assistance to local women and children shelters as part of the organization’s W.E. (Women’s Empowerment) Care initiative. Acceptable donations include clothing, shoes, accessories, linens, books, and small household items (no furniture). The drive is in partnership with the Springfield Professional Chapter of Iota Sweethearts, Inc. located in Springfield, Massachusetts. The two drives will be held simultaneously.
“One of our principle objectives as an Iota Sweetheart is to enrich the quality of life in the communities that we serve,” says chapter President Terrika Foster-Brasby, “This FUNDrive allows us to give back to our community through the donation of goods, but also to continue impacting our neighborhoods in a major way even when the drive is over.”
All goods collected through the FUNDrive are sold to Savers, the parent company to great thrift stores like Value Village, Unique, and Savers.
